About Us

The Clearinghouse on Male Circumcision for HIV Prevention (www.malecircumcision.org) is a collaborative effort to generate and share information and resources with the international public health community, civil society groups, health policy makers, and programme managers.

Goals

The Clearinghouse partners initiated the site to expand global access to information and resources on male circumcision for HIV prevention. The Clearinghouse offers current evidence-based guidance, information, and resources to support the delivery of voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services in countries that choose to scale up male circumcision as one component of comprehensive HIV prevention services.

We aim to provide:

  • Updates on countries' progress in scaling up VMMC programmes

  • News about VMMC for HIV prevention

  • Tools and guidelines for programme planning, implementation, and evaluation

  • Summaries of research on male circumcision

  • Materials for communicating and advocating with policy makers, clients, and potential clients

  • Case studies and lessons learned from programme experience.
