Prepared for voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) programmes, this guide is designed to provide guidance on safe and appropriate management of any complications associated with VMMC, standardised identification and grading of adverse events, and monitoring of VMMC programme safety and quality. It is intended for use by service providers who perform male circumcision procedures, as well as non-VMMC providers who perform post-circumcision client reviews. The second edition includes device-related AEs and multiple clinical updates from experience with programme implementation. This guide was updated in November 2018; the latest revisions are documented in the update log. Updates made after the initial 2016 release are available online only.
