The City of Johannesburg Can End AIDS by 2030: Modelling the Impact of Achieving the Fast-Track Targets and What It Will Take to Get There

The number of people who must be diagnosed, put on treatment, and virally suppressed to achieve the 2020 and 2030 targets is explored in the Journal of the International AIDS Society. The article also estimates how treatment needs could be reduced if targets are combined with such primary HIV prevention interventions as voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) and expanded condom distribution.
