The Linkages Study was a randomised controlled trial to evaluate community-based HIV testing and follow-up as interventions promoting linkage to HIV treatment and prevention in Uganda and South Africa. An analysis of qualitative data from the trial, published in AIDS Research and Treatment, describes key experiences affecting uncircumcised Ugandan men’s interest in and ability to pursue medical male circumcision following a negative HIV test result.
