An analysis of the status of male circumcision in Malawi conducted in 2013, this report presents data on the prevalence and socio-demographic distribution of male circumcision, reviews previous studies, and describes existing service packages, uptake and determinants of uptake of the procedure. It also explores knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions about male circumcision, assesses the acceptability of introducing medical male circumcision services in circumcising and non-circumcising communities, and analyses the potential impact of social and political factors that influence the uptake of male circumcision in Malawi. The report includes recommendations based on the findings of the situational analysis.
