Tetanus Toxoid Vaccination in Safe Male Circumcision

Kyambadde Peter of the Ugandan Ministry of Health (MOH) explains the rationale for the MOH’s recommendation that all potential safe male circumcision (SMC) clients be vaccinated against tetanus with at least two doses, presents the results on uptake of SMC, and notes that a study conducted in 2016 is expected to result in new guidance from the World Health Organization. He gave this presentation at the Meeting on Implementing the 2017-2021 Framework for Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision for the Eastern and Southern Africa Region in Durban, South Africa, on 28 February 2017.
