In 2013, meetings that addressed voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) included one on demand creation for VMMC, convened by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Zambia, and two meetings on devices organized by the World Health Organization. Results from VMMC research and programmes were also presented at the International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2013) and the International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa.
