Embedding VMMC within Community-Based HIV Testing Services to Increase Uptake in Older Men in the United Republic of Tanzania | Clearinghouse on Male Circumcision

The Clearninghouse on Male Circumcision for HIV Prevention is moving to the new Global HIV Prevention Coalition’s Resource Hub. To help men ages 25 to 29 overcome barriers such as distance to services, wait time, and lack of privacy, the Jhpiego-led AIDSFree project collaborated with Sauti, which offers community-based HIV testing services (HTS). AIDSFree embedded a VMMC team within the Sauti HTS mobile team to offer on-site, same-day VMMC. This case study is one of 11 on enhancing uptake of VMMC that were selected for inclusion in an annex of the World Health Organization’s 2020 VMMC guidelines.
