HIV Incidence in Western Kenya During Scale-Up of Antiretroviral Therapy and Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision: a Population-based Cohort Analysis

Researchers conducted a secondary analysis of data from three population-based surveys to investigate trends in HIV prevalence and incidence in Gem, Siaya County, in western Kenya. The results, published in The Lancet HIV, suggest that voluntary medical male circumcision had a direct protective effect against HIV.
