Prepared for voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) programmes, this guide is designed to provide guidance on safe and appropriate management of any complications associated with VMMC, standardised identification and grading of adverse events, and monitoring of VMMC programme safety and quality. It is intended for use by service providers who perform circumcision procedures, as well as non-VMMC providers who perform post-circumcision client reviews. The second edition includes device-related AEs and multiple clinical updates from continued programme implementation experience. The November 2018 update and a log of the updates made to the second edition are available here.
